What I’ve noticed recently in the media is a continued interest in the industrial food system of the US. Of course, this is the fall-out from over 700 people becoming ill from contaminated peanut products. Nine people died from eating peanut butter!
President Obama blames the outbreaks on outdated food safety laws and lack of funding for the Food & Drug Administration. The FDA has now asked congress for more funds to modernize the process of recalls and testing.
